Professor Dirk Uffelmann’s report within the framework of the scholarly seminar "West and East: Universalism of Culture"

On April 12, 2017, within the framework of a regular scholarly seminar of the International Laboratory for the Study of the Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue, Dirk Uffelmann, head of the Department of Slavic Culture and Literature of the University of Passau, Vice-President of the Union of German Slavists made a report.

Professor Uffelmann offered an analysis of the novel "Adibas" by Zaza Burchuladze (2009, translated into Russian in 2011) against the background of the publishing policy of Ad Marginem in comparison with the politicized demand of the readership for the works of Vladimir Sorokin and Victor Pelevin. The author concluded that under the conditions of postcolonial realities the Russian book market continues to play the role of a relay when works of post-Soviet authors enter the publishing market of European countries.
