On May 28, 2018 as part of the seminar "West and East: Universalism of Culture"a lecture was made by Associate Professor of Vienna University Martin Stemberger

The Austrian researcher described the image of Russia as "Anti-France", "Another Europe" in the literary and journalistic discourse of France in the XX-XXI century.
The speaker, based on the analysis of the travelogues of French travelers in Russia, showed that the extensive body of French travestologues prompts an in-depth comparative analysis of the discourse on Russia - another Europe in a cultural and historical context, and against the background of Russian self-identification and self-identification outside, on the periphery or within the polyvalent "Europe", the European idea spreading - this is the" paradoxical conclusion" of Trans-Siberian travel D. Salnav (2012) - all the same"from London to Vladivostok".
