A presentation of the book by the chief research fellow of the International Laboratory for the Study of Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue A.A. Kara-Murza was held at the non/fictio№20 festival
On November 30, 2018, A.A. Kara-Murza presented his book "Famous Russians about Venice" from the series "Famous Russians about Italy" at the International Fair of Intellectual Literature "non/fiction №20". The deputy head of the International Laboratory for the Study of Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue, Professor O.A. Zhukova, who is one of the main participants in the research projects of Italy, also attended the event.
The new book by the Doctor of Philosophy and the author of monographs on the history of Russian social thought Alexey Kara-Murza is dedicated to Venice. The study collected unique materials on the stay of famous writers, artists and public figures - Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Mikhail Vrubel, Alexander Blok, Boris Pasternak, Sergey Dyagilev, Igor Stravinsky, Joseph Brodsky in Venice. Russian cultural figures place unexpected accents in the understanding of the sinking beauty of Venice, combining poetry and sounds, architecture and painting. The heroes of each essay show the city in completely different perspectives and make us look into the soul of the city reflected in the water.
