"New archival finds: materials for the creative biography of S.L. Frank and M.I. Lot-Borodina" report by Teresa Obolevich
Within the framework of the seminar "East and West: universalism of culture" of International Laboratory for the Study of Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue, the Associate Professor of the John Paul II Pontifical University in Krakow Theresa Obolevich made a presentation
On February 4, 2019, Associate Professor at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, the author of books on Russian religious philosophy, researcher of philosophy and intellectual biography of S.L. Frank, Teresa Obolevich made a report at the seminar organized by the International Laboratory for the Study of Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue.
In the report unknown and little-known archival materials relating to the works of S.L. Frank and M.I. Lot-Borodina were considered. The matereals were collected as a result of archival searches in Russia, the USA, France, Switzerland, Germany and the Czech Republic. Thanks to these materials, it is possible to make some corrections to the already existing biography and bibliography of S.L. Frank, and also to create a portrait of M.L. Lot-Borodina, who is still "in the shadow" of the great Russian philosophers-emigrants. Special attention was paid to the question of how to carry out archival searches - not only “in situ”, but also online.
