Presentation of a New Book by Mikhail Blumenkrants

On 19 September 2019, within the framework of the seminar "West and East: Universalism of Culture" the philologist, historian of culture and philosophy, literary critic M.A. Blumenkrants presented his new book "Obschestvo Mertvykh Poetov "  ("Society of Dead Cyclists").

Abstract
The collection of essays by Mikhail Blumenkrants is devoted to pressing problems of modern European reality: the problem of correlation of universal values and pragmatic interests, globalist projects and issues of national self-determination, an analysis of the ideological sources of today's crisis phenomena of the socio-cultural life of European society. In spite of the variety of topics, the presented texts are united by an attempt to find the pain points of the modern “brave new world” and try to comprehend the spiritual situation of our time.

Mikhail A. Blumenkrants - Russian and Ukrainian philologist, culturologist, historian of culture and philosophy, literary critic, editor-in-chief of the Vtoraya Navigatsia almanac.
The event was moderated by the head of the IL for the Study of Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue, Professor Vladimir Kantor. The event was attended by Alexander L. Dobrokhotov, a philosopher and culturologist, Professor at the Higher School of Economics.
