Meeting with Ambassador of Switzerland to Russia Yves Rossier

On February 13, 2019, within the framework of the seminar "East and West: Universalism of Culture" of the International Laboratory for the Study of Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue, there was a meeting with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Russian Federation

At the meeting there was discussed the issue of belonging of Russia to Europe, Europe's understanding of Russia, and Russia's perception of Europe. Yves Rossier made a report in which he reviewed various images of Russia in different historical periods and commented on most incomprehensible, from the point of view of other European countries, actions of Russia in different eras of its history.The report evoked a discussion in which students and teachers of the HSE asked their questions.
The meeting was conducted by the head of the International Laboratory for the Study of Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue V.К. Kantor and Vice-Rector of the Higher School of Economics I.V. Prostakov.
