The book presents a publication by the staff of the International Laboratory for the Study of Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue, the leading research fellow Teresa Obolevich and senior research fellow Alexander Tsygankov. The article Alexei Fedorovich Losev was written by the staff of the Laboratory together with the senior research fellow of the 'A. F. Losev's House' library E. A. Takho-Godi.
Abstract:
The book is devoted to the history of the creation and the first years of functioning of the Institute of Academic Philosophy, the 100th anniversary of which is celebrated in 2021 by its heir, the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Based on previously unexplored archival materials, the authors update the historical traditions that developed in the early years of the Institute and focus on the intellectual originality of such key figures as G. G. Shpet, G. I. Chelpanov, V. N. Ivanovsky, I. A. Ilyin, B. P. Vysheslavtsev, A. M. Deborin, L. I. Akselrod, I. V. Popov, etc. The texts of the stuff and archival documents on the Institute history are also published (records of meetings, abstracts of reports, tender documentation and personal correspondence). The volume is illustrated in detail, including for the first time photographic materials of the activities of the Institute from the archives of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian State Library.
The presentation of the book will take place within the framework of the International Conference Philosophy and Society: 100 years of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (November 18 and 19, 2021).
